2024 Small Grant Program: Key Dates

  • The application period for 2024 will open Monday, April 15 and close at NOON on Monday, May 20, 2024.
     

  • Winners will be selected and notified by June 3 2024 . 
     

  • Winning funds will be administered and delivered by June 30, 2024. 

Eligibility: Who Can Apply?

  • Your organization must have a 501c3 non-profit status.
     

  • Your organization should have a presence in Watauga county or surrounding counties.
     

  • Organizations that address one or more of the following issues are encouraged to apply:

    • Food insecurity​

    • Food and social justice

    • Nutrition education

    • Community outreach

    • Food distribution

    • Education: community and school gardens​

    • Resources: community and school gardens​

Size and Duration of Grants

​
 

  • The maximum amount awarded by the Grow Watauga Small Grants Program is $1500.
     

  • Accepted grants may be renewed one time in 2024. (Although this is not guaranteed.)
     

  • Grant funds must be spent within the calendar year.  For example, for grants awarded in June 2024, it is expected that funds will be spent prior to December 31, 2024.

What's the best way to save a copy of my application?

We highly recommend downloading a blank copy of the full application (Word doc) and saving your responses as a document on your computer.  You can copy in your responses to the online application once you are ready to submit.  You can apply online here.

Can I send a PDF version of my application by email?

​

Please do not apply via email.  We only accept online applications through the form. 

​

What if I have additional information I want to share after I submit the form?

​

Once an application is submitted, answers cannot be amended or changed.  

Project Completion

Awardees will be required to share one or more of the following to show completion of the project.

  • Detailed summary of how the grant met your project needs

  • Photos (if confidentiality allows)

  • Documentation or data to be tracked
